Farm and Studio
About your hosts:
Barb and Carey are native Marylanders who grew up in the farming communities near Darnestown MD. Brought together by their love of family and farm culture, the couple have renovated this gorgeous turn of the century farmhouse with barns, wellness studio, goats, chickens, “beach vibe” meditatition spaces, porch swings, picnic areas and more.
Now they share this one-of-a-kind experience with you. Barb Stouffer is owner of Sweetwater Herbs Farm and Studio, curator of the home, gardens, and wellness studio programs.
Carey Stouffer, owner of Stouffer Landscaping, made his life work creating beauty by sculpting the land.
About Barb
A little more than 40 years ago, I took my first herbalism class and I knew something powerful had begun.
Since that class, I have continued my education, learning the most authentic methods to help a body heal and maintain optimal health.
I have had the opportunity to study under some of the most respected herbalists and energy workers of our time, including Rosemary Gladstar, Matthew Wood, Theresa Boardwine, and many others. I use my extensive training in Dr. Edward Bach’s flower remedy system to craft flower essences from local plants that have been identified to affect emotions positively.
In addition to studying Medicinal Herbalism at the Green Comfort School of Herbal Medicine, I am a Reiki Master and certified in Aroma Acupoint Therapy and the healing benefits of essential oils.
I find deep joy in educating others and look forward to working with you to achieve your health and wellness goals!
